He also studied with the legendary sitar master Pandit Ravi Shankar in Delhi\, India. Ikhlaq Hussain plays in the Gayaki Ang style\, reproducing the nuance of the human voice\, perhaps the most difficult form of playing the sitar. He was an Artist in Residence at Shangri La\, Hawai’I (DDFIA) in 2014. In 2015 Ikhlaq performed at Lincoln Center Out of Doors\, and in 2016\, at the Storm King Art Center as part of the Masters of Indian Music series presented by the World Music Institute. He had sold out shows at the Rubin Museum of Art every year between 2015 and 2018. Ikhlaq was invited to pay tribute to his Guruji Pandit Ravi Shankar and performed at the Maverick Concert Hall in Woodstock NY\, August 2019 with Steve Gorn and Samir Chatterjee. \nIn 2021 he performed at the Namaste Geneva and in 2022 he gave a sitar recital organized by the Indian Association Geneva.\nIn 2022 he performed at Fête de la Musique Geneva and the national Swiss Radio broadcasted his solo concert. Later that year\, he performed at the Plateforme Interreligieuse de Genève.In 2023\, he performed with Jog Blues at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. In the fall of 2023 and spring of 2024\, Ikhlaq had two series of concert tours in the USA. He held concerts at the University of Texas Dallas\, Learnquest at Framingham MA\, Jacksonville\, FL\, New York and New Jersey.\nIn 2025\, Ikhlaq performed in New York City\, in New Jersey and in Washington DC USA. An article was published about his Washington DC concert at the Dawn Magazine\nHis recent performances in Switzerland were at the Rietberg Museum in Zurich in December 2024 and at the Centre Vedantique Geneve in January 2026. \nIkhlaq Hussain’s personal mission is to preserve and disseminate his rich musical heritage through concerts\, performances\, and teaching. \nClément Allistone  est un disciple du Pandit Chhote Lal Mishra de Bénares auprès duquel il a étudié pendant de nombreuses années. Accompagnateur apprécié il se produit régulièrement.
